National Research Priorities (NRPs)
It is important that researchers are familiar with the National Research Priorities (NRPs) and the associated priority goals, not least as many government agencies (such as the ARC) ask applicants to relate their work to the Priorities. Each agency has to show that is fostering an appropriate level of work in these areas, and some schemes explicitly include relevance to the NRPs in their selection criteria.- NRPs and associated priority goals (DIISR website)
