Research Integrity Committee

The University’s Research Integrity Committee (RIC) has been established under Standing Resolution Terms. The RIC supersedes/replaces the Research Ethics Sub-Committee, and reports to the Research and Research Training Committee, a committee of Academic Board and Planning and Budget Committee.

Terms of Reference

  1. To provide advice to the Research and Research Training Committee on:
    • Policy issues relating to the Code of Conduct for Research (‘the Code’), including recommending any amendments to the Code or related policies or procedures.
    • Matters pertaining to University Policy on the Management of Research Data and Records.
    • Ways to promote awareness of, and compliance with, the Code, related University policies and procedures, and relevant external codes or guidelines on the responsible conduct of research.
  2. To provide advice to any member of the University who is in doubt about or wishes to discuss the applicability of provisions of the Code, or about the appropriate course of action to be adopted in relation to it. Such advice should be provided on a confidential basis.
The Committee shall meet at least twice per annum, and may establish ad hoc working groups or sub-committees to facilitate the work of the Committee.

Two nominees of the President of UMPA, to provide for student representatives from both the Humanities and the Sciences
