Welcome to the Gene Technology and Biosafety pages

The Research Office coordinates all aspects of compliance with the requirements of the Office of the Gene Technology Regulator (OGTR) and is developing policies and procedures in relation to the safe use and handling of hazardous biological agents - biosafety - for the University.

Other services include provision of advice in relation to AQIS (Quarantine) requirements, compliance with relevant Australian Standards (including advice on laboratory specifications), and training for research personnel working with GMOs or infectious substances.
