Visiting Scholar Awards

Overview

Visiting Scholar Awards are designed to assist scholars from leading overseas universities/researc institutions to visit the University of Melbourne for periods of two to six months to engage in collaborative research and/or engage in major curriculum development or knowledge transfer.

Eligibility

Please note: only ONE application per round will be considered from each University of Melbourne investigator. Applicants who submit multiple applications will have all applications removed from the assessment process.

Applicants must agree in writing (on the application form) to the Conditions of Award 2008. Please note the conditions relating to Intellectual Property.

Funding

Funding is provided by the University of Melbourne Planning and Budget Committee through the Research and Research Training Committee, plus a special allocation by the DVC(International).

The central funding contribution is $2,000 per month. This must be matched by a cash and/or in-kind contribution by the host University of Melbourne department.

Conditions of Award

Applicants and collaborators must read and agree to the Conditions of Award prior to applying.

Reporting Requirements

Chief investigators must provide a final report on the research project (activities and outcomes) within the following respective time-frames:-

Reports must be endorsed by the Head of Department and forwarded to the Melbourne Research Office. Refer to the Conditions of Award for details. Use the Collaborative Grant Report Form.
