Resources for members and administrators
1. National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research
All Australian human research ethics committees use the National Statement as the basis for reviewing and approving human research, and researchers should design their projects in accordance with this document. Committee members use the National Statement to identify common ethical issues and to justify the decisions they make during review. The Statement is accompanied by the Human Research Ethics Handbook, which contains information for researchers and those involved in human ethics review on substantive and procedural issues.
2. University of Melbourne Code of Conduct for Research
The Code sets out the framework governing research at the University.
3. Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research
The Australian Code provides national guidance in responsible research practices, and should be read in conjunction with the University Code of Conduct.
4. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Research
These guidelines provide advice about ethical health research involving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They are written around a framework of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander shared values and principles, namely: reciprocity; respect; equality; responsibility; survival and protection; and spirit and integrity.
