2008 Workshop for Early Career Researchers

Background

The Melbourne Early Career Researcher Development Program is an initiative of the Melbourne Research Office. Pilot programs were conducted from 2004-2006. The program is targeted at academic staff in the early stages of their career (normally in their first three years of a Level B appointment) who are seeking opportunities for strategic career planning and skills development.

2008 Workshop

Woodward Conference Centre (22 - 24 September, 2008)

This two and a half day workshop, organised by Melbourne Research Office and jointly convened by Professor Bill Sawyer and Professor Leon Mann, invited applications from University academic staff who are early career researchers in any discipline area. Interactive workshop sessions explored topics through facilitated discussions and small group activities. Participants were required to take part in all of the sessions over the two and a half day program. See Workshop Program (pdf).

Applicants completed an Application Form (doc) and required authorisation by their Head of Department/School. No charge was made to departments or individuals invited to participate in this Workshop, with lunches, morning/afternoon teas, and conference dinner provided.
