| Aim of scheme | Sir Edward Woodward - a former University Chancellor - and Lady Woodward, with the support of the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, have established two medals for staff at the University:

| Eligibility rules | The form of publication may be a single book or refereed journal article or a suite of related books or articles published in the preceding three years. Candidates for each Medal are invited to submit the nominated publication(s) along with a statement of significance. Members of staff may self-nominate or be nominated by a colleague. Where applicants are self-nominated, a statement from a Head of Department or senior University colleague about the nature of the work would be helpful. |
| How to apply | By 5pm of the closing date send the following to the address below:

| Special considerations | In the case of multi-authored work, the Committee asks that the nominator comment on the nominee?s individual contribution to the underlying research and the publication. Only one medal will be awarded to an individual (ie it is not a team award). |
