The Research and Research Training Management Report is a report to the Commonwealth Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST).

DEST requires that public universities report annually on their research and research training strategic objectives, targets, plans, management systems, intellectual property management, research commercialisation, and performance. The Report is in the format required by DEST.

The University has as its Mission to become one of the finest universities in the world. It is a research led university that pursues research excellence in a wide range of disciplines. It welcomes the opportunity to report to DEST on the management of its research and research training activities and to highlight the breadth and quality of its outcomes in terms of the advancement and dissemination of knowledge; fostering graduates with high-level, professional skills; and its contribution to the innovation cycle (turning new knowledge into new products, processes and services for Australias economic and social benefit).
